Renowned worldwide, the 34-meter long old two-masted ship - also known as Santa Maria - became the 15th-century caravel during the filming of the movie "1492: Conquest of Paradise" directed by Ridley Scott. It also appeared in distant scenes in the American film "In the Heart of the Sea" (2015) directed by Ron Howard.

A maritime jewel with a fascinating history

Originally built in Denmark in 1929, the ship with a remarkable cinematic past will be on display at Quai Richelieu in Bordeaux all week and can be visited on Saturday, April 27th and Sunday, April 28th in partnership with Arzmael Les VoiVolunteers from the association Les Voiles Océanes. The 45-minute visits (from 9AM to 12PM and from 3PM to 6PM) allow you to go around this old sailing ship witness of history. It will then continue its journey to Spain to attend the maritime festival in Pasaia. For the rest of the year, it is docked at the port of Quiberon and offers trips in the Brittany region.here.
