Acts, threats and homophobic insults in Bordeaux

The story dates back to December, when the entrance hall of the bar was vandalized and tagged with homophobic insults "Get out, f*gs. Shame!". A first act that worries the bar's teams as the hall is only accessible to the residents, with whom they have good relations. The culprits must have managed to break into a private and secure area. 15 days later, a company hired by the building's management intervened to clean the tags (or part of them, leaving the red paint on the mailbox visibly).

But last week, the story repeats itself for the LGBT Friendly dance bar. An unstamped letter casually placed in the private lobby is received by Julien. This time, with threats and racist remarks added. "We don't want to see any f*gs in this neighborhood, you are perverts" is written in the letter, along with "I suggest you change your business and especially your clientele before you encounter any problems, whether administrative or personal". And to top it off, a subtle reference to "men of color" at the entrance of the establishment.

The letter also mentions a previous incident that occurred 10 years ago, where the former owners and staff were attacked and beaten with bats inside the bar. Julien Colonna expresses his concerns for the safety of his staff and customers in light of these recent events. A complaint has been filed, but they have yet to receive any updates on legal action.

On his social media, he also calls out the municipality and law enforcement for their silence and inaction. "What is the National Police doing? What is the Bordeaux municipality doing? Mr. Pierre Hurmic, do you plan on waiting until this becomes irreparable acts?"
