It's a distinction that brings real joy! Every year since 2015, AirHelp, the world's largest passenger rights technology company, has been ranking the best airports in the world. A ranking considered the most comprehensive and accurate based on data from airports around the world. This year, a total of 240 airports from 70 different countries around the world were analyzed and compared.

And the result is clear... It comes just after the Bordeaux airport was elected "most punctual in France" and announced a colossal 130 million euro project to optimize its passenger experience.

In this edition, Bordeaux-Mérignac ranks 150th among the best airports in the world. With an overall average of 7.43, it received a score of 7.1 for punctuality, 7.8 for passenger reviews, and 8 for services. A nice final score that makes it the 4th best airport in France behind Toulouse, Nantes, and Lyon at the top of the French ranking.

Internationally, Doha Hamad Airport in Qatar is at the top of the ranking with an average score of 8.52 closely followed by Cape Town Airport in South Africa (8.50) and Nagoya Chubu Airport in Japan (8.49). It is worth noting that Japan is the country with the most representation in the top 10 with three airports (two for South Africa and Brazil). So, we still have some progress to make in France before aiming for the top positions in the ranking.

The data was mainly obtained through the AirHelp data platform, which monitors over 4,000 airports worldwide, and thanks to the personal experiences of 17,000 passengers from over 60 countries, analyzing the performance of airports from May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024.
