Hey guys, big news! The town hall of Arcachon has just announced a new rule - no more smoking, whether it's with paper or electronic cigarettes, on their beautiful beaches. And get this - if you're caught breaking the rule, you'll have to pay a fine of 150 euros. Ouch, that's quite a hefty price to pay for a cigarette break, right?

Arcachon: A new Zero cigarette butt territory Exciting news! The Mayor of Arcachon has declared the beaches tobacco-free zones. Now, you can't smoke or vape on any of the beautiful beaches, not even the popular Thiers Beach at the end of the pier. First, the mayor cracked down on people walking around shirtless or in bikinis and being loud at night. Now, the focus is on those pesky cigarette butts. If you're caught smoking on any of Arcachon's 7 km of beaches, you could face a €150 fine. Just a heads up, the ban doesn't apply to the waterfront, streets, or public spaces. This rule has been in place since June 18. The goal of this initiative? To enhance the beach experience for visitors, protect the health of beachgoers, sailors, and the environment. There are 150 ashtrays scattered around the city, where cigarette butts are recycled 100%. Thanks to Eco-Mégot, they are converted into fuel for cement kilns in Nouvelle.Aqu.italy.
