Maxi strike SNCF during a busy holiday weekend
The weekend is shaping up to be complicated in train stations. A heavily disrupted traffic awaits travelers due to a significant mobilization of SNCF controllers. During the school holidays for zones A and C, three out of four train conductors will be on strike. As a result, "One out of two TGVs, one out of two Ouigo trains, and one out of two Intercités trains will run from Friday to Sunday" stated SNCF. In practical terms, every other train will operate normally nationwide.
The Paris-Bordeaux line hit hard!
But between Paris and Bordeaux, it's…st different. With the decision to prioritize trains to the Alps, SNCF has had to limit the number of trains running on this route to 40% this weekend. Over the three days, 131 connections to the capital are cancelled out of 179, approximately 63% cancellation. You can stay updated in real-time on the SNCF application or website. Customers whose train is cancelled will be notified by SMS and can exchange their ticket free of charge or get a full refund. As compensation? A -50% discount on their next trip sent within 30 days. Will that be enough to make up for the inconvenience?
