After a year of intensive work carried out by GTM Bâtiment Aquitaine, the METPARK Gambetta parking lot reopened its doors on November 28. Brand new, it has undergone a complete renovation to provide an optimized user experience with innovative technologies and services that combine comfort and security.

Metpark Gambetta: The Parking of Tomorrow

METPARK, the management company of Bordeaux Métropole, announced a budget of 25 million euros to renovate the 4 parking lots Gambetta, Cité Mondiale, République, and Porte de Bordeaux. True to their word, Gambetta has been completely rethought and was unveiled on Thursday, November 28, with the shared goal of “refreshing the image of the parking lot and addressing new uses by integrating the mobility policy of the Bordeaux Metropolis”, as stated by Nicolas Andreotti, General Director of METPARK.

For a New Generation of Urban Parking

The Gambetta parking facility has received the "GOLD" label, which rewards innovative environmental practices from Attitude Environnement of VINCI Construction, whose subsidiary was responsible for the work, alongside the architectural firm Félix & Associés. The innovative parking space of 15,000 m2 uses "Ticketless" technology, allowing customers to enter and exit the parking without a ticket, simply by reading their license plate. This ensures optimal fluidity in movements, reducing wait times.

A smooth, secure parking lot with 500 spots and no tickets

Fewer spots, for more convenience. That's METPARK's strategy to provide greater comfort. By reducing the parking capacity by 10%, this mobility solution provider allows for wider spaces and easier parking. In total, there are 438 car spots, including 102 equipped with electric charging stations and 28 motorcycle spots available.

The park is equipped with an intelligent guidance system featuring dynamic display panels that provide real-time information on the number of available parking spaces by level and aisle, a mobile app to enhance your experience, and a service called “My Spot” to quickly locate your vehicle.

METSTATION, a space dedicated to eco-friendly mobility

The Gambetta parking also hosts the new METSTATION service, which is a 100% dedicated parking area for eco-friendly mobility. With easy access via a new ramp located right in the heart of the Commandos de France square, this spot encourages the use of bicycles, scooters, and other environmentally friendly modes of transport.

Those using eco-friendly transportation will find available: 40 bike spaces, 6 cargo bike spots, 24 lockers, 12 of which are equipped with charging ports for electric bike batteries, and a station...

for inflation and repair for regular maintenance and a hand washer.

Modern and tailored to the needs of Bordeaux residents, the Gambetta parking facility also offers a nearby service: 168 Mondial Relay, Amazon, and Vinted Go lockers that allow you to drop off or pick up packages 24/7. By June 2025, more than 60 locker modules will be installed in 22 METPARK parking lots.

Cost of the project: 7.8 million euros and 50 companies involved throughout the duration.
