The Bordeaux airport continues its transformation. After eight months of work and an investment of 3.5 million euros, the new departure area of the terminal has been inaugurated. More spacious, more modern, and designed for optimal comfort, it now welcomes Le Pain Quotidien, an emblematic organic and responsible coffee shop brand.

A 600 m² space reimagined for comfort and flow

The expansion of the terminal billi marks a new milestone in the extensive investment program of 170 million euros led by the airport through 2027. This 600 m² extension, designed with a bioclimatic approach, features a green terrace and enhancements made without additional soil sealing – a first in the modernization of Bordeaux's infrastructure.

Goal: streamlining passenger flows while reducing the environmental footprint. “This new offering meets several expectations: more diverse, more local, more friendly. And this is just the beginning,” emphasizes Simon Dreschel, chairman of the airport’s management board, announcing the continuation of the singing.

Le Pain Quotidien, a new coffee shop for travelers

Operated by AREAS, the new establishment Le Pain Quotidien sets up at the entrance of the terminal. The concept features 120 seating spots split between the interior and the terrace, offering a seasonally changing menu.

Travelers can enjoy a selection of organic hot drinks (latte, matcha, golden latte, mocha...), exclusive frappés — including a unique choco-cookie frappé unavailable anywhere else in France — and a quick dining menu: sandwiches, salads, toasts, and homemade desserts. Made on-site with fresh ingredients, the dishes range from comté-dagobert sandwiches, blue cheese toasts, Thai salads, cinnamon rolls, to perfect granola. The vegetarian recipes are not forgotten, featuring a delightful Thai veggie wrap or a vegan chocolate-chia muffin.

Food lovers can also take home a selection of gourmet grocery items – financiers, chocolate bars, teas, and Bordelaise canelés.

The new area of the Billi terminal features two distinct paths, for dining in or taking away. By combining comfort, speed, and eco-friendliness, it reinforces the goal of putting the passenger experience at the heart of its strategy.
