Bordeaux will host a stunning Moon for the night. On April 2, 2026, the Pink Supermoon will grace the sky, and even though its name might be a bit confusing, no, the moon won't actually turn pink. The term comes from Native American tribes, who named this April full moon in honor of the Phlox subulata, a pink flower of North American spring. What is truly impressive is its size: at perigee, the closest point to Earth, it will appear up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than usual. No telescope needed: the naked eye is enough!
The Moonrise: A Moment You Don’t Want to Miss!
Just after night falls, look towards the east. It’s then, when the Moon just kisses the horizon, that the moon illusion plays to the max. Compared to the rooftops of Toulouse or the banks of the Garonne, it appears absolutely gigantic. A purely optical effect, but truly breathtaking. Note that.
: its intense brightness can disrupt melatonin production and delay falling asleep.See this post on Instagram
