A Transformed Promenade Sainte-Catherine
Abra-ca-dabra! Promenade Sainte-Catherine presents "Forest Walk", its new Christmas event to discover until January 5, 2025. The action will kick off tonight at Promenade Sainte-Catherine with the official launch of the lights, a DJ set, and a magical show hosted by the duo Dimdou & Tonix (featuring magic, balloon sculptures, Christmas carols, and juggling), a makeup workshop, and comforting food stalls. Santa Claus will even join in, coming straight from the North Pole to make dreams come true for the little ones!

A forest of natural fir trees for Christmas in Bordeaux
Free and open to everyone, “Forest Walk” has been designed to bring several weeks of festive cheer to the heart of Bordeaux’s city center. It has everything needed to make the eyes of little ones… and big kids sparkle! To start with, over 60 Nordmann fir trees straight from a producer in New Aquitaine will be set up! A partnership with compost maker La Grande Jaugue will recycle the trees into compost. This will later be used for community gardens and the planters along the promenade; a wonderful initiative aimed at sustainably recycling waste. With a touch of flair, magic wand, Promenade will showcase all the iconic elements of a fantastic Christmas.

The LED fairy lights will also be part of the fun! More than 1,440 meters of golden sparkle will wind along the pathways at Porte Dijeaux and Sainte-Catherine. The traditional colors of Christmas will be beautifully displayed, featuring over a thousand green baubles and a giant red bow that will wrap around the facade of the Lego tower like a gift package.
Making Festivities and Solidarity Rhyme
Another element of this colorful and wintry setup is a community garden installed by the fountain. Once harvested, all the produce will be donated to the Bordeaux Gironde Food Bank.
Many family activities will be offered throughout the event: the essential Santa's mailbox, parades with Santa Claus accompanied by his little helper handing out chocolates and gifts, as well as enchanting wish tree activities. Everything you need to capture the timeless magic of Christmas is here, and the Promenade becomes an open-air storybook!
