Bordeaux could soon welcome a unique establishment. According to several local sources, a high-end floating hotel is currently being prepared on the Garonne, right in the heart of the Bordeaux metropolis.
Luxury hospitality takes root on the Garonne
This future floating hotel, with an area of 1,500 m², is set to be docked on the quays of Bordeaux with a panoramic view of the city and the river. The project includes: about 30 high-end suites, a gourmet restaurant with a panoramic terrace, a rooftop with a pool, a spa and wellness area, and a lounge bar with views of the Garonne.
« The goal is to provide a unique experience combining luxury hotel and a stationary cruise », explains a project representative.
Opening planned for 2027
Thoughts...As a floating hotel complex, the establishment could welcome tourists and locals from Bordeaux all year round. According to initial estimates, the hotel could receive more than 20,000 visitors per year. The project aims to host private events, seminars, and exclusive evenings.
Construction work is expected to start in 2026, with the launch planned for 2027. The cost of the project is estimated at nearly 25 million euros, funded by an international hotel group.
“Bordeaux is a growing destination, and this project will enhance its tourist appeal,” say the project leaders.
