The Chinese New Year is back on February 22 in Bordeaux with a grand parade under the sign of the Fire Horse. The event, organized by the Friendly Association of Chinese in the South-West and the France-China Bridge Club of Bordeaux, is a highlight of Bordeaux's cultural life, blending ancient traditions with a lively celebration.
Chinese New Year 2026 in Bordeaux
The parade will kick off at 2:30 PM from Place de la Victoire, featuring the traditional lion and dragon dances, essential moments meant to chase away evil spirits and invite good fortune for the new year.
Like last year, the procession will wind its way through the iconic streets of downtown: Rue Sainte-Catherine, Place Saint-Projet, Place de la Comédie, Cours du Chapeau-Rouge, before heading to the Quai du Maréchal Lyautey. The celebration will conclude at 4:30 PM at the Mirror of Water, where a spectacular finale is expected.
