600 m2 of refurbished second-hand goodness

The Ikos collective, which works for reuse, integration, and the circular economy, unveiled its new store on December 7 in the heart of the Ginko district at Bordeaux Lac. With a total area of 600 m2, the shop showcases a rich and diverse selection of fashion for men, women, and children, home textiles, furniture and decor, appliances and tech, games and toys, sports gear, anti-waste grocery items, and handmade crafts. A catalog designed to meet the needs of everyone and encourage alternative consumption.

This diversity is based on the efforts of the members of the Îkos collective, which includes: Atelier d'Éco Solidaire, EBS Le Relais Gironde, Échange Nord Sud, Eco-Agir, Envie Gironde, and Recyclerie Sportive Bordeaux. They work together to offer products made from reused materials. The goal? To democratize access to second-hand goods and raise public awareness about collaborative reuse. All the products available for sale are sorted and refurbished by the collective's team, made up of individuals who are distanced from the job market through collaborative reuse.

Ïkos, a key player in the circular economy in the Bordeaux area

To go even further, 20 m² of the new store are dedicated to educational workshops to raise awareness among both young and old about more responsible and local consumption. Easily accessible, the new store benefits from a parking lot with over 950 spaces and offers two free hours, greatly improving its accessibility compared to the previous store at Promenade Sainte-Catherine.

It’s no coincidence that we chose to establish ourselves in Ginko. This residential neighborhood, currently undergoing transformation, represents an opportunity for Ïkos to diversify our clientele and reach more residents from the greater Bordeaux area,” explains Marion Besse, Director of Ïkos.

100% supportive, 100% reuse, 100% unique

The opening of this shop marks an important milestone in the flagship project of Îkos: the Reuse Village, set to open in 2027. This future space of 12,000 m2 will bring together all activities related to reuse: collection, sorting, selling, and raising awareness. This innovative project will create around one hundred local jobs, helping Bordeaux become an exemplary city for sustainable consumption and a circular economy.
