A Pledge of Excellence
For its 10th edition, the Versailles Prize has chosen to award no less than 16 hotels around the world. Among them, three French hotels: La Fantaisie, a luxury boutique hotel located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, Le Cap d'Antibes Beach Hotel in Antibes and finally Mondrian Bordeaux Les Carmes in Bordeaux. In 2023, no French or Parisian establishment had reached the global ranking, only a hotel in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin had distinguished itself in the "Europe" category.
Mondrian Bordeaux: An international recognition
Designed by Philippe Starck, architectural designer and artistic director, and accompanied by Jean-François le Gal (Advento architecture firm), the Mondrian Bordeaux Les Carmes***** embodies a perfect harmony between history and modernity, linking Bordeaux's rich architectural and wine heritage to the 21st century. The Versailles Prize explains that the winners are crowned for their major role in "embellishing and improving their living environment". The awards, which pay tribute to innovation, creativity, echoing the local heritage, ecological performance, and values of friendliness and participation that the United Nations hold dear, are based on the principles of smart sustainability - taking into account both the ecological, social, and cultural impacts.
