For 3 days, more than 90 chocolatiers from around the world will come together in the heart of Bordeaux to introduce the public to the delightful world of specialty chocolate through tastings, workshops, and immersive experiences.
Bordeaux, the new global capital of chocolate
Organized by the European Bean-to-Bar Chocolate Association, the ShowColat festival aims to establish Bordeaux as a global crossroads for bean-to-bar chocolate. Artisans from Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia will be present to share their expertise and showcase their creations.

« With ShowColat, we wanted to create a festival that is accessible, yet demanding and educational, to introduce the public to the true chocolate », explains Vincent Ferreira, president of the European Bean-to-Bar Association. Beyond tasting, the event will also highlight the challenges of the cocoa industry : deforestation, rising prices, transport, and sustainability.
Immersive Museum and Chocolate-Themed Escape Game
Among the highlights, visitors will be able to discover: a 200 m² immersive museum dedicated to the history of chocolate, a unique escape game "Chocolate Crime" accessible from age 12, a hot chocolate bar, and tastings and sensory workshops. Free conferences will be held as well.

The European Final of the International Chocolate Awards
Another highlight of the festival: the European Final of the International Chocolate Awards, scheduled for Saturday, May 2 from 4 PM to 7 PM. This ceremony...every year, the international award recognizes the best bean-to-bar chocolates in Europe.

For this first edition, Venezuela will be in the spotlight. Considered one of the birthplaces of fine cocoa, the country will offer a dedicated space with: tastings, conferences, workshops, and cultural activities. Two highlight events are already eagerly anticipated: theconference The Cocoa of Venezuela on May 2nd and 3rd from 1 PM to 2 PM and a tasting workshop on May 2nd and 3rd from 4 PM to 5 PM (registration required).
