LuminoKrom opens a new luminous route in Gironde
In a few months, the Vélodyssée will transform into a luminous track to provide more comfort and safety for cyclists. This famous 1300-kilometer bike path - which crosses Brittany and runs along the Atlantic to the Basque Coast - will have 35 km equipped with photoluminescent markers. A project carried out with the company OliKrom located in Pessac and its unique and patented French innovation LuminoKrom®.

Already 10 km have been painted with the technology that exploits the natural phenomenon of photoluminescence and the renewable energy of solar radiation. This innovative device allows the paint to recharge indefinitely in daylight or artificial light, without any fatigue, and thus guides users on unlit paths, especially in wooded areas, thereby improving their nighttime experience.

An innovative and sustainable project for the well-being of cyclists
The works, carried out by the North Arcachon Basin Community of Agglomeration (Coban), will take place in two stages: a first section of 10 km between Andernos-les-Bains and Lanton will be painted in June, followed by an extension of 25 km between September and June 30, 2025. Cost of the project? 215,000 euros excluding taxes, nearly 100 times cheaper than installing public lighting.
