After closing its doors for good in December 2024, Alex Tissus is enjoying a second life in Bordeaux. A former customer, Maïlys Grau, and a former employee, Sonia Studer, have taken up the torch and opened the new shop on Francis-Garnier street, just a few streets away from its original location.

40 years of Bordeaux history that continue
Founded in 1985, Alex Tissus initially catered to professionals before becoming a beloved destination for seamstresses and tailors in Bordeaux. After several locations, notably in the city center and then in Bacalan, its closure marked the end of nearly 40 years of activity.
But the story was clearly not over. For this comeback, the new managers chose to preserve the essence of the brand: a wide selection of fabrics, affordable prices and particular attention to quality, now with a focus on eco-responsible materials.

Fabrics, custom-made curtains and armchair reupholstering
Beyond selling fabrics and haberdashery items, this new address also offers custom-made curtain creation and armchair reupholstering services, carried out with partner craftspeople.
A rather unique transition for this local institution: a former customer and employee are now the ones writing the next chapter of its story.
