Bordeaux has now established itself as the city where infidelity is most widespread in France, according to the 2026 data from Gleeden, which compared the number of sign-ups to the adult population of each municipality.

It’s an unexpected turn of events. Long associated with Paris, the top spot on the list now goes to Bordeaux, where 13.26% of the adult population is said to be registered on the extramarital dating platform. Following the Gironde capital, Lille comes in second place with 12.94%, while Paris takes the third spot with 10.44%. This marks a notable decline for the capital, often seen as the city of love... but also of secret romances.

To explain this shift, Gleeden highlights a phenomenon that began with the Covid health crisis. Many professionals have left Paris to settle in cities that offer a better quality of life, such as Bordeaux, Lille, or Nantes.
“Our users used to be very Parisian. Today, we find them more in intermediate cities,” analyzes Solène Paillet, marketing and communication director of Gleeden. The rise of remote working and professional flexibility may have also contributed to this geographical redistribution.
With teleworking, increased mobility, and changes in relationships, the map of French infidelity is being redrawn. And by 2026, surprisingly, Bordeaux is set to become the new capital of infidelity.
