A Grand Opening Celebration
After 7 years of construction, the sixth road bridge spanning the Garonne river is finally ready. The news is out: the Simone Veil bridge will be officially inaugurated on the first Saturday of July during a big party with DJ sets, circus performances, giant games, and illuminations. Save the date at the Arkéa Arena for a night of 100% free festivities.
Pedestrians and cyclists will get to enjoy the new bridge first, with a dedicated lane opening on Wednesday, July 3 at 10 a.m. They will have a generous 20-meter-wide space to move around freely. Motorists, on the other hand, will have to wait until Monday, July 8 at 5 a.m. to drive on the 549-meter-long, 44-meter-wide bridge.
