This Thursday morning, users of Bordeaux's public transport faced a sudden disruption of the tram network. Around 9 a.m., a gas leak identified near the Bastide Tram depot led the emergency services to order an evacuation of the premises.
The 6 tram lines halted in the Bordeaux metropolitan area
This evacuation had direct consequences on the operation of the TBM network, resulting in a loss of communication between the control center and the drivers. Under these circumstances, the operator decided to immediately suspend all tram lines for safety reasons.
Firefighters and teams from the gas service of Bordeaux Métropole are currently on-site to secure the area and address the incident.
TBM invites travelers to refer to the bus network and follow the situation in real time through the website, the mobile app, and the social media of the transportation network. For now, no timeline for the resumption of traffic has been communicated.
