La Benarderie is gearing up for the next edition of its potato fair. For 5 days, from Wednesday to Sunday, La Benarderie celebrates one of the most essential ingredients in French kitchens: the potato. Located in Hourtin, the family farm offers a wide selection of varieties suited for all kinds of dishes, with prices advertised as exceptional.
Potatoes starting at 0.40€ per kilo
Among the available varieties, there are Monalisa, Agria, and Jazzy, perfect for fries, steaming, or raclette. Prices start at 0.40€ per kilo in bulk. A 10 kg bag is offered at 6.50€, and it drops to 5.90€ when buying over 40 kg. The red potato Francine, with firm flesh, is available for 5€ for a 5 kg bag, perfect for steaming or sautéing.
Seasonal vegetables and products are here!
The fair isn't just about tubers. Visitors can also leave with Landes carrots, washed and priced at €1.10/kg (or €9.50 for 10 kg), leeks at €1.90/kg, cauliflower at €2.50 each (or €4 for two), organic sweet potatoes at €2.90/kg (or €2.50/kg for 12 kg), as well as yellow onions at €2.90 for 5 kg and red onions at €5 for 5 kg. Shallots are available for €9.50 for 5 kg.
A Farmer's Living Place with Commitment
La Benarderie has been run by Astrid and Jean-François for 30 years, farmers based in the Médoc region. Originally focused on cereal farming, the farm diversified in 2010 to include a wider range of products like asparagus and apple picking. The arrival of their son Romain in 2015 marked a new chapter, with the development of a farm shop open all year round and self-picking activities.

Beyond agricultural production, the farm is also developing tourist activities: giant maize maze, educational trails, treasure hunts, and orienteering courses. For 2026, two exciting new additions are announced: a mini-golf and a pedal go-kart track, accessible for ages 5 to 99.
