A new road connecting Bordeaux and Cap Ferret on the horizon for 2026
It's no secret: the road between the capital of Bordeaux and the peninsula is often congested. During peak summer times, the journey can take up to 2.5 hours when it normally only takes 50 minutes. Good news for lovers of the bay (and not those of planet preservation): a highway will be built between Bordeaux and the tip of Cap Ferret. Construction will begin in May with an estimated opening in summer 2026.
This new road, operated by VINCI Autoroutes, guarantees a fast travel time of 35 minutes from the Bordeaux exit to the first picturesque villages of the peninsula. Cost of the journey? €6.50 off-season (€9.50 in the summer).
