Last Saturday, at the Matmut Atlantique stadium, during the Girondins match against Guingamp, the Honduran forward of the Girondins had to leave the field just a few seconds into the game after receiving a strong blow to the temple. The 28-year-old player was quickly taken to Pellegrin Hospital in Bordeaux where he underwent surgery overnight. Due to a head injury, the medical team decided to place him in a medically induced coma for his safety.

Alberth Elis: Uncertain News

"At this moment, it is still impossible to determine Alberth's vital and functional prognosis. The Club expects to not be able to communicate any decisive new information for a few days and will not make any new comments on Alberth's health status" stated the Girondins in their statement, published this Sunday afternoon. The club also indicated that a psychological support team will be put in place quickly to support the Club's employees during these difficult times.

Sending positive thoughts to the player, their family, the club, and all of its employees during this challenging time.
