Bassins à Flots: sliding and indoor sports
A covered sports pavilion named Betty Cuthbert will soon provide a space for basketball, table tennis, climbing, and strength training, accessible in any weather!

On the other side, a concrete bowl and a pump track covering 4,500 m² will welcome BMX riders, roller skaters, scooter enthusiasts, and skateboarders. These projects, designed in collaboration with the users, will make the Bassins a new hub for urban skating.

A classic in Bordeaux sports, the Parc Lescure is getting a modern makeover while celebrating its Art Deco heritage. The athletics track and sports fields will be renovated, and new facilities – padel, fitness, and 3x3 basketball – will be introduced. On the innovation side, three courts will be covered with solar canopies, generating 443,000 kWh/year of renewable energy to power several municipal sites.

Formerly known as the Stéhélin pool, the revamped site will be called Jean Zay pool. It will feature a 25-meter outdoor Nordic pool, a fun area, and two solariums, one of which will be green-roofed. The facility embraces an eco-friendly approach, using heat pumps and solar panels for heating.

In the new Brazza neighborhood, a gymnasium combined with a fencing hall is rising. It stands out with its wooden structure, straw insulation, solar panels, and natural cooling system ("geocooling"). Unfortunately, a storm in June 2025 damaged the construction site, pushing the delivery to spring 2026.
