Very trendy, igloo evenings are a great success. Always at the top of the wave, the Cauterets resort does not disappoint. It offers to head out, snowshoes strapped to your feet, at nightfall from the Pont d'Espagne to reach an igloo nestled in the mountains. The walk is done alongside a guide. Once arrived, the participants are invited to enjoy a comforting hot meal (soup, pie, cheeses and cold cuts from local producers). Then, it's time for magic! The show begins with a shower of stars, commented on by the guide who is a knowledgeable astrologer. It is worth mentioning that the Cauterets resort is located in the international dark sky reserve. And from the mountain, the stars shine much brighter. To enchant the little ones, a short story sets the pace for the show. The magic happens!AE media

Some magical activity ideas in Cauterets

Between its vast nordic ski area, snowshoe walks in the middle of fir trees, thermal spa for a wellness break, lively village with 120 shops, or thrilling activities.. Cauterets, perched just 3 hours from Bordeaux, definitely ticks all the boxes for a dreamy stay. Discover some non-exhaustive activity ideas.

  • Snowshoeing among the fir trees

Simple, but effective. The alternative of snowshoes is always welcome to admire the landscape. Cauterets offers a <&br />/span>tour through its national park. This is how we wind our way through the fir trees and get intoxicated by the pure mountain air. With a bit of luck, we may come across ibex (these Pyrenean chamois) or mountain goats to make the walk even more typical. The setting is magical and the hike worthy of a cartoon. While snowshoeing may not be the most unusual activity, it always has its charm.

  • Embark on a photo hike

What if, once and for all, we came back with thousands of memories from our mountain escapade. The half-day photo hike (about 3 hours) is led by Hadrien Brasseur, a mountain guide and professional photographer. During these outings, he reveals valuable tips to succeed in photography. All themes are available, from discovering photography in nature, to wildlife, to long exposure techniques in front of numerous waterfalls... The hike adapts to all levels in photography. You just need to bring your equipment (camera, backpack, snowshoes, poles, and a light snack) and open your eyes wide.

  • Discover mountaineering in the high mountains

Offered with high mountain guides, this hike is more challenging. With crampons on, roped up, ice axes in hand, equipped with carabiners, we learn the basics of mountaineering to progress in the high mountains accompanied by a guide. A kind of snow school, lasting 3 hours, for thrill seekers. We discover the mountains differently. We learn the basics, in complete safety from 10 years old. It's a unique experience to live, to take your first steps in the mountains and maybe ignite a new passion in budding mountaineers.

  • Aquatic Care (Healing Dance)

After the effort, comfort! What if we ended our stay with a little wellness break at Bains du Rocher (where the water naturally flows at 34 degrees as it comes from the thermal spring of Cauterets)? It's a first in the resort. A practitioner offers "healing dance" sessions. This aquatic well-being treatment offers a relaxing break under the guidance of Valérie, who equips us with leg floats, keeps our head above water to provide a strong sensation of weightlessness that quickly promotes a state of total relaxation. The time is to let go, to rest.Say goodbye to stress with our sessions! Lasting from 30 minutes to 1 hour, they are inspired by specific techniques such as Watsu and Japanese yoga. The idea is to merge freedom and envelopment in the middle of the water.
