As every year, when December arrives, the Festival of Lights returns to brighten up Villenave-d'Ornon for a magical evening. The date is set for this Saturday. This significant event, born from the VOJO project launched in 2022 in connection with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, will showcase an ambitious and cheerful theme this year: « The Light Strikes Back », a delightful nod to the galactic imagination.

A temporary village to kick off the festivities
The event will start at 4:30 PM at the Jean-Macé school, transformed for the occasion into a “village of light.” Creative workshops (lava lamps, face painting, group mural), performances by the artists from Imhotep, and songs by Florian Delabracherie will bring the place to life. For this special occasion, the La Cascade and Jean-Macé leisure centers will provide a snack for families.
A family stroll that feels like a dream
At 6 PM, the Quidams company will kick off the stroll with their show “Herbert's Dream”: long white silhouettes emerging from the shadows, moving slowly before transforming into four-meter-tall luminous giants, strange and majestic. This fantastic procession will lead the audience to Sourreil Park, where the ri.The final gathering around a glowing sphere will wrap up this poetic journey.

A park transformed into a nighttime wonderland
Starting at 7 PM, visitors will be invited to freely explore the park with “Light Waves,” an immersive installation created by Missiv. Armed with a map and a flashlight, everyone can wander through sound effects, luminous halos, and secrets scattered among the trees and clearings. Three highlight moments will mark the evening: the spectacular illumination of the château at 8 PM, 9 PM, and 10 PM, synchronized with the bell of the new music school.
Workshops, shows, and treats until nightfall
A large playful area will welcome both young and old: a light mural, duck fishing, blackminton, storytelling, animated films, a photo booth, not to mention the luminous ballet of Imhotep’s bolas. To warm up, sweet and savory food trucks will offer hot drinks and delicious dishes.
