After 13 hugely successful editions, the Great Scooter Race is making its comeback to Bordeaux. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 19th, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, at Munich Square on the waterfront. Open to children aged 6 to 12 years old, this festive event will support the fight against childhood cancer while offering a morning packed with fun activities.
Europe's biggest scooter race
Organized for fourteen years now, this event is today presented as Europe's biggest scooter race. This year, organizers are hoping to break a double record: that of the number of participants and that of donations collected.
More than 400 children are expected. Each will take off under the colors of a partner company to support several associations committed to fighting pediatric cancers. Since its creation, the event has raised over €230,000, donated notably to Parentr'aide Cancer, to the Cancer Leagues in severars departments and to the Koala association.
Free activities for the whole family
Throughout the morning, the Trotti-Village will offer plenty of free activities for young and old alike.
On the agenda: awareness workshops on sharing the road, initiation courses for the youngest, scooter agility courses, musical warm-up, medals and diplomas awarded for "trotti-heroes", not to mention the traditional races for trotti-moms and trotti-dads. Food and refreshments will also be available on site.
Personalities mobilized for a good cause
The event will benefit from the presence of several personalities who came to support the young participants, including Vanessa Feuillatte, prima ballerina at the Bordeaux National Opera, Théo Serre, a former patient, as well as former Top 14 players and charitable motorcyclists.
