A Premier Empire Ball is Coming to Gironde!
On April 26 and 27, 2025, Chateau Lafitte is getting ready to host the third "Weekend with the Bridgertons", a complete immersion into the world of the First Empire and the Regency, inspired by the popular series of the same name. Organized by the Bal d’antan association based in Carbon-Blanc and specializing in historical dance, this year's event is switching venues and will take place in the majestic setting of the Classified Grand Cru Chateau nestled in Yvrac in Gironde.

Historical Dances, Sumptuous Costumes, and Period Games
For an entire weekend, time seems to stand still, and visitors are invited to relive the lavish evenings of the great families of the era, just like in Pride and Prejudice or The Bridgertons. The ball is more than just a simple dance evening: it’s a true journey back in time with a full schedule over 2 days.
Exciting dance classes led by a professional will allow participants to learn charming waltzes, quadrilles, column dances, and other essential figures. The rest of the time will be filled with activities, walks, picnics, artisan markets, conferences, and free time to explore the surroundings.
The highlight of the event is expected on Saturday evening starting at 7:30 PM when the Lafitte castle transforms into a true First Empire palace with chandeliers, candles, grand tablecloths, and sensational period decorations.
The Lafitte Castle Joins the Dance
“The ball begins with an opening ceremony, followed by dances and breaks during which a catered meal will be served. All of this will be complemented by light shows and immersive staging for a complete sensory experience,” shares the organizer. For this special occasion, visitors are invited to don their most elegant period outfits. The association offers costume and accessory rentals, in limited quantities.
A specific dress code is required : ladies will adorn themselves in empire waist gowns, corsets, gloves, and elaborate hairstyles. As for the gentlemen, they will dress in trousers, shirts, and suit jackets, complete with white gloves and top hats for the purists. The Bridgerton ball will also culminate in the traditional costume contest, where one of the participants will be crowned the “diamond” of the evening, just like in the Netflix series.
This historical ball isn't just for the elite; it's open to everyone! Tickets are €95 for presale, €80 for association members, and €120 for last-minute purchases. The price includes activities, meals, and access to all the weekend's entertainment (accommodation not included).
