A Premier Empire Ball Invites Itself to Gironde
On April 26 and 27, 2025, the Lafitte castle is getting ready to host the third « Weekend with the Bridgertons », a complete immersion into the world of the First Empire and the Regency, inspired by the hit series of the same name. Organized by the Bal d’antan association based in Carbon-Blanc and specializing in historical dance, this year the event is changing venues and settling into the majestic setting of the castle nestled in Yvrac in Gironde.

Historical Dances, Sumptuous Costumes, and Period Games
For an entire weekend, time seems to stand still as visitors are invited to relive the lavish evenings of the great families of the era, just like in Pride and Prejudice or The Bridgertons. The ball isn’t just a simple dance evening: it’s a real journey back in time with a full program over 2 days.

Enjoy dancing classes led by a professional where participants can learn delightful waltzes from yesteryears, quadrilles, line dances, and other must-know moves. The rest of the time will be filled with activities, strolls, picnics, creator markets, talks, and free time to explore the surroundings.
The highlight of the event is expected on Saturday evening starting at 7:30 PM, when Château Lafitte transforms into a true palace of the First Empire with chandeliers, candles, elegant tablecloths, and sensational period decorations.

Château Lafitte Takes to the Dance Floor!
The ball begins with an opening ceremony, followed by dances and breaks where a catered meal will be served. All of this will be set against a backdrop of light displays and immersive scenography, providing a complete sensory experience, shares the organizer. For this special occasion, visitors are invited to don their finest period costumes. The association offers costume and accessory rentals, in limited quantities.
A specific dress code is required: ladies will adorn themselves in empire-waist dresses, corsets, gloves, and elaborate hairstyles. Gentlemen, on the other hand, will wear trousers, shirts, and suit jackets, complete with white gloves and top hats for the purists. The Bridgerton ball will culminate in the traditional costume contest, where one participant will be crowned the “diamond” of the evening, just like in the Netflix series.
This historic ball is open to everyone, not just an elite crowd! Tickets are €95 in advance, €80 for association members, and €120 for last-minute purchases. The price includes activities, meals, and access to all weekend entertainment (accommodation not included).
