In 1999, Serge Mounard took over the family property (previously dedicated to dairy production) and decided to transform it into a gathering place for visitors and Pyrenean animals. The idea was: enclosures in semi-freedom, local species presented in their recreated natural environment, a contact with mountain wildlife on a human scale.
One of the most beautiful parks in France
The park is now ranked among the three most beautiful parks and zoos in France, a member of EAZA, which consists of major European zoological institutions, and has had the Pyrénées Conservation Foundation since 2012 dedicated to preserving biodiversity.
More than 100 different species!
te;rentesYou can find over 600 animals and around a hundred different species here. And of course, the iconic creatures of the Pyrénées (brown bears, gray and black Canadian wolves, ibex, chamois, vultures, lynx, otters, marmots) live alongside species from other places: red pandas, lemurs, gibbons, meerkats, hyacinth macaws. The path is marked and comes in both a short and long version (and trust us, the long one is definitely worth it).

The marmots are the undeniable stars of the place; you can feed them and take close-up photos! The keepers stroll around the park throughout the day. Don't miss the feeding sessions for the bears and marmots!
