As we approach the bridges of May and sunny days, an analysis by Click&Boat compares the most sought-after destinations for a boat trip based on several criteria: popularity, accessibility, and weather conditions. The result: the Gironde coastline stands out against highly coveted international spots.

Arcachon in the European top 10 for a boat outing

Ranked 10th with a overall score of 6.59/10, Arcachon shines with its balance of natural surroundings, accessibility, and affordability. Expect to pay around €326 for renting a boat for about 10 people, a competitive price on the European scale. With its sheltered basin, calm waters, and iconic landscapes (including the Dune of Pilat, the charming huts, and Bird Island, just to name a few), the destination offers an ideal playground for sea outings with friends.

Ibiza on top, France well represented

No surprise here, Ibiza tops the ranking with a score of 8.69/10, followed by Malta and Kavos in Greece. These are well-known destinations for their lovely weather and strong tourist appeal. But France shines with three cities in the top 10: Marseille (7th), Cap d’Agde (9th), and Arcachon (10th). Cannes comes in at 17th place, just ahead of Monaco.

Great value for money on the French coast

The study highlights a key point: French destinations are becoming increasingly attractive thanks to their excellent value for money. With prices generally between €230 and €330, they remain much more accessible than other European destinations like Ibiza or Palma de Mallorca.

« French destinations are increasingly attracting travelers seeking a balance between a controlled budget and quality experience », says Jonathan Couverchel, Head of Sales at Click&Boat. According to the study, the months of May and June are particularly favorable for boat outings. The days are getting longer, the weather conditions are more stable, and the crowds are still moderate.
