November 2028 will mark a turning point in the history of European transportation. A new high-speed train connecting Bordeaux to Barcelona will officially be inaugurated, taking just 45 minutes! The "Vitesse d'Or" promises to link the two cities in a record time of 45 minutes. The project was initiated by SNCF International, in partnership with the Spanish company Renfe and several tech startups. It’s part of a modernization plan for the European rail network and aims to strengthen exchanges between France and Spain. The total project cost is estimated at 1.8 billion euros, a figure considered reasonable by authorities, given the expected economic benefits for both regions.
Cutting-Edge Technology and Comfort
The "Golden Speed" relies on a magnetic propulsion technology, called hyperRail, which allows the train to travel at speeds of up to 600 km/h. This system uses specially designed tracks to minimize friction and optimize speed. Additionally, a series of specially designed stations will ensure ultra-fast stops, around 30 seconds.
