Currently being installed, the lights will shine from November 29 to January 6, 2025. Just like last year, in a spirit of eco-responsibility, they will be turned off from 1 AM to 7 AM (except for December 24/25 and 30/31). The theme for this year 2024? A “festive and warm Christmas”.

The Christmas lights will start shining on the same day as the Christmas market - now located in Place des Quinconces - inaugurated by the Mayor at 7 PM. The official opening of the year-end festivities will take place on Friday, December 6th from 6 PM to 9 PM at Place Pey-Berland with the same glass tree as in previous years.

Even though the Christmas tree won't be making a grand return—much to the dismay of traditionalists—a much-missed Christmas attraction will celebrate its return this year. Bordeaux will welcome back its Christmas ice rink after almost 10 years away, but this time it won't be in front of the town hall; instead, it'll be on the Allées de Tourny. There will also be four little gourmet chalets serving crepes, roasted chestnuts, and hot chocolates to reward the hardworking skaters.

Just a few more days to wait before our city dresses up in its most beautiful shimmering lights to make dreams come true for young and old alike.
