Another victory for UBB!

Great news for the folks in Bordeaux: in its ranking published yesterday, the sports media l'Equipe has placed the Chaban Delmas stadium at the top of the best rugby stadiums in France. They evaluate each venue in the Top 14 based on nine criteria (like atmosphere, accessibility, pricing, and modernity) to measure the overall experience.

In this little competition, UBB is gaining some ground, just a few weeks after winning the Champions Cup final. Following Bordeaux are the stadiums of Bayonne, Clermont-Ferrand, Perpignan, and Toulon.

Designated a historic monument since October 2022, Chaban-Delmas Stadium, opened in 1924, proudly stands in Parc Lescure, just a stone's throw from the heart of Bordeaux. It first served as the stage for the Girondins' triumphs, before becoming, in 2015, the stronghold of the UBB. Since then, it has been filled to capacity with a loyal family-friendly crowd.

A unique atmosphere, blending tradition and friendliness

Under its art-deco arches and behind its time-worn walls, the daily life embraces the rare charm preserved at Chaban amidst modern stadiums. With its intimate stands, cozy yet snug seats, the closeness to the game and the fans is complete. The players' arrival at Place Johnston, the snack bars beneath the stands, the neighboring breweries, the DJ, and that bodega spirit: everything comes together.here's to the festive atmosphere after the media.

Friendliness isn’t just a word: beer at €5.50 during happy hour, sandwich menu for €9, and a commitment to the environment with a sorting and collection system for materials!

A roaring and popular success

With its 32,215 seats, a hybrid lawn, and easy access (tram A, bus 9, bike, or car), Chaban-Delmas ticks all the boxes. It welcomes a diverse crowd that makes the stadium buzz with excitement at every UBB attack. Even though there are a few discomforts – like lines at the restrooms or stands – they seem minor compared to the collective energy that fills the air.
