Bordeaux is among the top 10 least stressful cities
Ah, the Southwest and its sweetness of life. As every year, Le Figaro has unveiled its study on the quality of life in the 25 largest cities in France in 2023. The verdict? The podium for the least stressful cities in France is occupied by Aix-en-Provence (it seems that the sun of the South and the Mediterranean Sea are the keys to happiness), Angers (winner in 2022) and Nantes. The 3 cities are ahead of Rennes, Poitiers, Caen, and Bordeaux which ranks 7th. Or first among the largest metropolises in France.

The most stressful city in France is Lille
To establish its ranking, Le Figaro took into account several factors related to the urban living environment: road noise, transportation failure rate, lack of vegetation, committed incivilities, and population density. While unveiling the most qualitative cities, it also reveals where stress impacts quality of life. Among the underperformers? Lille, Paris, Toulon, Marseille, and Montpellier round out the top 5.
