The brokerage site Online Mortgage Advisor has designated the 25 most beautiful cities in the world based on criteria of harmony and aesthetics in the arts and nature - commonly known as the golden ratio by scientists - which allows for assigning beauty scores in the fields of architecture, painting, geometry...

With a focus on architecture, the ranking measured the beauty of 2,400 buildings worldwide using extracts of Google Street View images to calculate the proportions of all these buildings and determine how closely each adhered to the golden ratio.

Mathematical perfection to study the beauty of Bordeaux

Among the 25 most beautiful cities in the world, Bordeaux proudly ranks 9th. Even better, it is the top city in France with a score of75.3%, ahead of Paris (12th) and Strasbourg (22nd) rounding out the French podium. On a global scale, Venice stands as the most beautiful city in the world.
