Sailing Up Close with the People of Bordeaux

Usually reserved for the docks of major races, the IMOCA boats are making an appearance right in the heart of the cities this time. In Bordeaux, the first stop on the tour, the public will have the chance to step aboard the boat of Benjamin Dutreux, explore behind the scenes of ocean racing, and chat with the skipper. “The idea is to create a connection, to bring our world closer to the people, in places where our boats usually don’t dock,” he explains.

Projections, meetings, and awareness

The Bordeaux sequence will kick off with an opening evening featuring screenings and discussions, followed by a day dedicated to schools, Coyote partners—locally established with around fifty team members—and the general public. The visits to the sailing boat, which are free but only available with prior registration, are the highlight of this unique stage.

A collective and committed project

Supported by Coyote and 4CAD Group, the IMOCA Tour blends innovation, sports, and eco-responsibility. The event is part of the advocacy efforts of Benjamin Dutreux, a member of the Water Family since 2017, who champions ocean preservation. « It's important for me to convey these messages in a tangible and accessible way », emphasizes the sailor.
