In the heart of summer, the residents of Guîtres had the joy (and luck) of welcoming Le Prieuré, a new bistronomic restaurant that's making a name for itself well beyond its quaint village. Nestled at the foot of the Abbey – a local historic monument – and facing the Isle river, the restaurant promises a true culinary getaway, in a warm atmosphere like grandma's house. Let's take a little tour of the owner!
A country house in the heart of the village
After a few ventures in the region – including the Château d’Abzac and its guinguette – the Corrette family took over the Gagnebée house, a fully renovated period building right in the heart of the village of Guîtres, at the corner of Prieuré street and the Tilleuls square. The space spans 350m2 over two levels, featuring an absolutely divine shaded terrace for lovely days, where you can sit down just like at grandma and grandpa’s, surrounded by vintage furniture, wooden floors, and charming dishes.
éé. The whole experience is enhanced by a warm welcome, led by Director Gauthier – who has a background that includes working with the very much loved Anahi in Paris. In short, Le Prieuré embodies a wonderfully preserved country house spirit, from breakfast to dinner, which is illuminated by the soft glow of candlelight and paired with one of the signature cocktails on the menu, before giving way to lively evenings filled with good company until the wee hours.Voir cette publication sur Instagram

On the culinary side, it’s the young chefs Jason and Lisheng, who are graduates of the Bocuse school, handling the pots and pans. The chefs champion a homemade style of cooking that combines French craftsmanship with Asian flavors, featuring a menu that changes every three to four weeks. From traditional duck terrines to innovative tempura mushrooms with soy sauce, not to mention grilled octopus served with rice noodles, duck breast, and braised beef cheek… the menu proudly showcases its gastronomic excellence in every dish. The cherry on top? Every weekday lunch, the house delights you from appetizer to dessert with an affordable set menu at just €25, with daily changing suggestions based on the chef’s whims!
Sunday brunch, a delicious ritual at your leisure
Every Sunday, Le Prieuré also offers its all-you-can-eat brunch. A feast of delightful goodies that…
Enjoy a delightful experience from 11 AM to 4 PM, with a complete package for just 39€. What's on the menu?
