A breath of Scandinavia is blowing over Bordeaux. For all the Nordic lovers, head to POF® Bacalan to (re)discover the iconic Dutch specialties. The 150 m2 restaurant has chosen the strategic neighborhood of Bacalan for its first location. In this vast gourmet paradise, there is a children's playroom upstairs with intricate games designed by a company working for Disney. But its true identity lies in the typical menu from the Netherlands signed by the famous chef Christophe Maury.

Christophe Maury : A Renowned Chef in Bordeaux
The chef, with a lengthy career and experience gained in the finest Michelin-starred restaurants, honed his skills in.A remarkable moment in the show C à Vous on France 5 opened its new table in Bordeaux. Its nickname POF® as the abbreviation of "poffertjes", the traditional fluffy pancakes that appeared in Amsterdam for the first time at the fair in 1734, the concept was imagined by Karine Maury, his wife. To create such a strong identity, the couple called on the Zouave et la Sorcière, the company in charge of all the creation of major TV sets like Lol Qui Rit Sort, The Voice, la Star Academy.

A mixed Nordic cuisine
Since its opening on October 9, the restaurant presents its 100% original menu made entirely in-house. With a cosmopolitan flair, the dishes are designed to be shared or enjoyed individually. Indulge in the "bitterballen", a type of filled croquettes, the "pannenkoeken", the gouda raclette, the famous "poffertjes" both savory and sweet with options like smoked salmon, vegetarian, fresh butter, Nutella, or almond cream. Among the iconic desserts, sweet-toothed customers flock to the syrup-filled waffles known as "stroopwafle" with chocolate, marshmallow, or Smarties. Super nostalgic!

Brunch aficionados will not be disappointed with a Sunday formula priced at €28 per person which includes 3 « bitterballen » (duck confit, truffle, sturgeon, oriental beef), a generous toast, 6 « poffertjes » with choice of toppings, an orange juice, and a hot drink.

Another surprise? POF® Bacalan caters to cocktail enthusiasts with a selection of signature cocktails that narrate the story of the Netherlands. Created by one of the most sought-after bartenders in the world (who also has the Milanese bar 1930 ranked in the top 50 best bars in the world), the menu features 14 references (including 3 mocktails) priced between €9 and €11. In a warm atmosphere, where the modern decor sets the tone, POF® Bacalan takes its guests on a luxurious and almost initiatory journey. Like in a Dutch tavern, one gets drawn in by the quality of the place, its warm welcome, and its top-notch menu. A hidden gem!
