Origine BK: A Berlin kebab in Bordeaux
Don't be surprised if, as you approach Victor Hugo Street, a delicious smell of kebab emanates from the street. The intoxicating scents come from Origine BK, at number 19 Rue du Mirail, which prepares a REAL Bordeaux Berlin kebab. With its signature recipes, BK Origine delights with its fresh and homemade cuisine. Behind the project? Not surprisingly, the founder of the gourmet restaurant Arcada located on Rue de la Rousselle in Bordeaux, who wanted to reinvent the classic kebab into an exceptional sandwich, tinged with Turkish and Berlin influences.

The gourmet kebab
The result? A kebab that stands out from the ordinary with 2 meats on the spit - veal or poultry - marinated for 48 hours. If the meat alone would be enough to satisfy kebab lovers, the unique accompaniment follows the same pattern. Forget the usual "lettuce, tomatoes, onions", at Origine BK you'll find a perfectly balanced mix of braised cabbage, pomegranate, feta cheese, red onions, zucchini, carrots, lettuce, and parsley. Tastebuds travel as much as our prejudices about Bordeaux kebabs disappear.

Signature homemade recipes
With a passion for perfection, the teams work on each ingredient independently. The bread (also available in a vegan wrap version) is prepared fresh every morning and the 5 sauces are homemade. You'll have to choose between garlic pea, mint and honey white sauce, Algerian sauce (their own take on it), kaffir lime harissa, and herbed mayo. Good luck!

The restaurant also caters to potato lovers with delicious homemade fries cooked in 2 stages. Just like our Belgian friends! A meat-free kebab version also delights veggies with a signature setan cooked in a homemade spice broth.
As for prices, expect €9 for just the kebab, €11 with fries, and €12.50 for the complete menu with drinks. A tasty treat for a bargain! Origine BK offers its delights for dining in (30 seats inside) and for takeout. A lovely surprise with a taste that will leave you wanting more (wanna bet?).
