From music to culinary excellence, there is only one step. After trying his luck in the artistic world, Sylvain Renzetti finally changes course. To improve his resume and impress the banks, this lover of cooking works as a chef for two years in Audenge in a brewery. It all starts when he reconnects with a high school friend, now a real estate agent. He finds an establishment for sale, the former restaurant "Coté Rue". Sylvain's mother then sells her only property, her house, to buy this location and finance her son's new restaurant: "Son'restaurant". "Son" is a little nod to his mother and her story, meaning "son" in English. This perseverance has paid off because today, "Son'" is ranked as the number one restaurant in Bordeaux on Tripadvisor. A very important place for the manager. "We are very proud because every customer review is like a mini Michelin guide for us. We give 400% to surprise our customers every day," he says. He owes this success to.In addition to his small team, Sylvain is accompanied by a second chef and an apprentice in the kitchen, while his partner is the director and Henry is the head waiter.

Creative dishes with international flavors

Would you eat oysters with sausage? At their place, anything is possible. Making people travel is Sylvain's main goal. On your plate, you will have French cuisine with Mexican, Chinese, or even Japanese flavors. The textures and taste construction are perfectly mastered and tend towards culinary excellence. There, it is impossible to get bored because the menu changes every 2/3 days. In reality, it is the customers who are in charge of the next proposals. At the end of your meal, Sylvain will take the time to see you in order to take all your advice into account. He says: "Every day I work like a madman to improve. My clients are my guides and help me adjust my dishes". Their flagship product remains the oyster sorbet. (Yes, you read that right, sorbet oyster). Note that the products are mostly local. You can admire the team's work with their open kitchen in the modern dining room. As for the wines, Son' is once again setting the bar very high. This restaurant "is the only one to" offering Fragosta, a wine from the Pyrénées that looks like champagne, but uses raspberries instead of grapes. Dishes can be modified for allergies or dietary restrictions with one day's notice, except for lactose-free and vegan options. The evening menu is 55€.

A Second Restaurant in the Works

With creativity being one of their strong points, innovating their concept during the lockdown wasn't difficult for Sylvain. This chef created handcrafted and homemade meal kits. With just a pan and a microwave, you're all set! All you need to do is plate up beautifully. Tutorials are even available on their YouTube channel. This idea was such a hit that Sylvain kept it for special events like Christmas or New Year's dinners. He always has projects in mind. What if we told you that a second restaurant could soon be opening in Bordeaux? And maybe one day, Son'Restaurant will earn a Michelin star! Stay tuned...
