The Avener Will Make the Citadel Walls Come Alive
We dreamed it, they made it happen. For the first time, the Citadel of Blaye will transform into an open-air dance floor for an evening called Tanins Électro. Headlining the event is Tristan Casara, aka The Avener, a prominent figure in the French electronic scene known for his hit "Fade Out Lines".
Alongside him, Upsilone with his 80s-inspired melodies, as well as Venga and Loov will keep the temperature rising until the end of the night. Serving drinks will be the winemakers themselves, with red and white wines, plus cocktails made with crémant produced right in the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux region. It's the perfect way to toast between drops while enjoying a spectacular backdrop overlooking the estuary.

100 winemakers gather to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Spring Wine Festival
The next morning, we dive right into the tasting side of things. On April 11th and 12th, the Citadel will host the 30th edition of the Spring Wine Festival of Blaye, an unmissable event for the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Almost 100 winemakers will be set up behind their barrels to let you discover their vintages and share their passion. Enjoy delightful reds dominated by merlot and fresh whites around sauvignon: it’s the perfect opportunity to (re)discover this terroir on the right bank, which is too often overshadowed by the big Bordeaux labels.
For this anniversary edition, the theme is the 90s. So get ready for some fun fashion and musical surprises between sips!
Workshops, 90s games, and a gourmet market
On the fun side, the program is packed with excitement, including workshops from the Bordeaux Wine School, tastings in the dark, guided tours of the Citadelle's undergrounds, and a waiters' race. And to match the 90s theme of this anniversary edition, get ready for a roller skating rink, an XXL Game Boy, and a retro DJ set.
Don’t forget the gourmet market featuring oysters, tourtons, asparagus, cheeses, and other local treasures. A weekend made by and for food lovers to enjoy with friends or family, where the tannins will definitely be… electro.
