The Editor

For two days, Bordeaux will host one of the biggest French festivals dedicated to Asian cultures. This 2026 edition will especially shine a light on South Korea, in celebration of 140 years of friendship between France and Korea, featuring a rich program that combines heritage, pop culture, and immersive experiences.

South Korea in the Spotlight in 2026

This year, Animasia is proud to have received the official label from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in France. This recognition celebrates over 20 years of promoting Asian cultures to the general public.

Visitors will have the chance to explore many activities dedicated to South Korea, ranging from ancestral traditions to the global phenomenon of K-pop, manga, and contemporary culture.

Over 230 exhibitors and hundreds of activities

Like every year, the festival will offer an eclectic program for everyone.

On the agenda: cosplay contests, concerts, shows, martial arts demonstrations, conferences, exhibitions, video game spaces, workshops, traditional and contemporary activities, and don’t forget a huge village featuring over 230 exhibitors showcasing crafts, gastronomy, pop culture, and products from Asia.

Animasia, the unmissable festival in Bordeaux

Founded in 2005 by the Mandora association, Animasia has become, over the years, one of the most important events dedicated to Asian cultures in the Southwest. Now hosted at the Bordeaux Exhibition Center, it attracts over 30,000 visitors each year who come to share their passion or simply discover the richness and diversity of Asian cultures.
