Five Days for the Ocean
Launched in partnership with Nomads Surfing and supported by the City of Bordeaux, the Ocean Days festival is back from June 4 to 9, 2025. Staying true to its participatory and committed spirit, it transforms the Promenade Sainte-Catherine into a public awareness space for ocean protection. Concerts, screenings, roundtable discussions, workshops, and waste collection activities will fill these days, inviting everyone to take action in their own way.

A Giant Octopus as a Sentinel
A powerful symbol of this edition, the Octochrome octopus once again reigns over the LEGO totem tower. Created by artist Alain Laboile, this eight-meter sculpture, crafted from ocean waste, embodies the impact of marine pollution on all ecosystems. It's a strong visual signal to raise awareness about the environmental urgency, just a stone's throw from the Atlantic.
Highlights of the Festival
On Wednesday, June 4, the opening roundtable (5:30 PM) will address the theme: "How can each of us get involved at our own level to protect the ocean?" Guests include Olympic surfer Johanne Defay, the nature photographer...
ralist Greg Lecoeur, climate activist Adélaïde Charlier, and Victoria Guillomon, host of the podcast Nouvel Œil. The exchange will be followed by a DJ set by the Bordeaux group Owlshake and a refreshment stand (reservation recommended on Weezevent) for a high-energy opening evening.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
On Thursday, June 5, the Promenade transforms into an open-air cinema for the International Ocean Film Tour. Five short films dedicated to the sea, its beauty, fragility, and guardians will be screened starting at 8 PM in a relaxed and summery atmosphere.
On Friday, June 6, get ready for live music: the singer Flavia Coelho will headline a concert featuring Bazil, Sara Lugo, De Grands Enfants, and the Bordeaux electro collective Bruit Rose. An evening filled with energy, world rhythms, and good vibes. Tickets are available over here.

An eco-friendly stroll
More than just a shopping spot, the Promenade Sainte-Catherine proudly embraces its role as an engaged player. Certified BREEAM In-Use, it promotes organic waste with BicyCompost, recycles cigarette butts through EcoMégot, hosts three beehives on its green roof, and supports a solidarity garden, with the harvests going to the Food Bank. These commitments are shared with Nomads Surfing, a Bordeaux-based eco-designed surf company, certified as a B Corp and labeled ESS. They donate 5% of their revenue to coastal protection associations and carry out many awareness-raising actions for the environment.
