In line with World Ocean Day, on Saturday, June 8th, Promenade Sainte-Catherine is organizing the 4th edition of Ocean Days. Well-known to the people of Bordeaux, this festival dedicated to the preservation of the ocean is a free and open event for everyone, designed to surprise, engage, and raise awareness. For this occasion, the teams have worked on a special staging and program.

Naâman in an intimate concert by reservation
A free open-air concert by singer Naâman on Thursday, June 6th, will testify to this. Originally from Dieppe, this prominent figure in the French reggae scene will share his beautiful energy and smooth rhythms for a 100% good vibes experience. With limited capacity, the ticketing for the event is now open (25€ per ticket). All profits will be donated to ocean protection associations. On other days, the Promenade will resonate with various oceanic cultures through concerts of Indian, Polynesian, or African music and dance shows.
Engaging art under the stars
Among other highlights of this 2024 edition, the stopover of the International O.cean Film Tour on Friday, June 7th starting at 8pm for a cinema night under the stars with lounge chairs set up in the gentle evening summer breeze. The program includes five films on the theme of the ocean. Recent productions, as moving as they are powerful, to grasp all the challenges of this "blue continent", essential for the survival.
Let's celebrate the beauty and diversity of humanity.
Culture and Art Serving the Climate
Moreover, a round table moderated by Théo Robache on Wednesday, June 5th at 5pm will provide some insights into a question that many people are asking: "How can we each, at our own level, engage to protect the ocean?" Honored guests - such as Alice Lemoigne (French and European Longboard Champion), Amélie Carraut (Marine Biologist) and Clément Pourtal (Founder of The Blue Quest) - will be present to discuss this topic and share their best practices.
Starting June 5th, the center - certified BREEAM In-Use - will once again transform into an artistic space serving biodiversity with the colorful umbrellas making a comeback and the creation by artist Alain Laboile of a giant 8-meter octopus on the Lego totem tower. An artistic and symbolic work to raise awareness about the threat posed to our oceans. With the overarching theme of "the different oceanic zones in all their diversity", Ocean Days festival volume 4 will showcase a different ocean/continent each day with dedicated animations and activities.
