La Frange à l'Envers Sets Up Shop in Bordeaux

Like a spacious apartment resembling a fashion showroom, La Frange à l'Envers brings newness to Bordeaux. Just a stone's throw from cozy neighborhood restaurants and historical landmarks, the consignment shop opened its doors last June on the lovely Puy Paulin square, right next to the likes of Sézane, Maison Stella, and Suzie or Isabel Marant. A prime, trendy neighborhood for a new concept that makes the old charming.

Designer pieces in perfect condition at unbeatable prices

On-site, the spacious 150 m2 glass boutique - featuring stylish décor worthy of a luxury store - showcases its unique catalog. Its motto? Offering recent, trendy collector's items. American Vintage, Maje, Sandro, Cos, and Isabel Marant are just a few of the star brands. "Lidée aims to provide carefully curated pieces from high-end brands that are right on trend," shares Charlyne, the communications manager of the house.

A thrift store specialized in recent collections

On the racks, organized by sizes (from XS to XL, from 34 to 44) and by colors, the clothes look brand new, vibrant, and none are older than 5 years. It’s a true paradise for fashion lovers who can snag the piece of their dreams at unbeatable prices. "Count on €55 for a timeless Sézane sweater, while it would cost over €100 when new." The carefully curated and demanding selection aims to make certain brands accessible that wouldn’t be in stores new. Some items are marked down by up to 70%.

In the Realm of Fashion and Circular Economy

Alongside ready-to-wear, you'll also find shoes, accessories, leather goods, and even a bit of brand new cosmetics. La Frange à l'Envers also showcases some luxury pieces from the biggest names like Chanel, Dior, and Jacquemus.

Recently, just like its Parisian older sibling (which has been a hit for 10 years in the 11th arrondissement), the consignment shop launched its men's collection - tailored to Bordeaux style - and its bespoke image consulting service. The idea? To guide clients through their shopping experience with tips on understanding their color analysis, choosing cuts that suit their body shape, and matching materials and fabrics according to their style.

A first-hand experience in a second-hand shop

In its beautiful setting with sleek and colorful decor – featuring Moldovan rugs, pink racks, vibrant posters, and pop influences – the atmosphere at La Frange à l'Envers is truly inspiring. The two founding sisters, Anne-Sophie and Coralie, bring you the Parisian vibe that has been thriving since 2014. They've brilliantly revamped the consignment shop concept and made it more stylish than ever.

Becoming a reference in the exclusive fashion circle, Frange à l'Envers reinvents shopping with taste and ethics. Here, sustainable and circular fashion reigns supreme. By promoting responsible and ecological values, the brand accepts deposited clothing - as long as they meet the criteria - and pays the sellers.

"If you have clothes gathering dust in your closet, this is the place to drop them off; the 40% commission is the lowest in the market." Sales are rewarded with a check or through a credit to spend in-store. "We sort the items, set the prices, and they hit the store within 24 hours for a maximum of 2 months". Deposits are accepted every day, no appointment necessary, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 1 PM to 6 PM.

The unsold items are redistributed to charitable organizations like Secours Populaire. "The garment has a responsible life cycle all the way to the end."
