Liber Pater: The rebirth of forgotten grape varieties
He had promised one day that his wine would be more expensive than a Pétrus or a Romanée Conti. Promise made, promise kept: Loïc Pasquet now sells his Liber Pater bottle (meaning "Free Father's Wine") for 35,000€, making it the most expensive wine in the world.
An exorbitant price justified by an ancient winemaking technique. This vintage from the Bordeaux estate in Graves AOC is the very first made exclusively from pre-phylloxera vines. A meticulous work to create an original wine, which stands out for its unique character and sensory robe of deep ruby that offers a precious blend between aromatic richness and complexity. Produced in the old-fashioned way, only a few hundred bottles are released for sale each year and attract a audience of seasoned collectors and wine lovers.Voir cette publication sur Instagram

The most expensive wine in the universe
By using forgotten vineyards, sometimes even extinct ones that were not devastated by the phylloxera at the end of the 19th century, the winemaker works as in the 18th and 19th centuries. This historical approach to winemaking uses handmade amphorae that allow the wine to age underground and regain the taste of yesteryear.
A rarity that explains its astronomical prices. Like an ephemeral work of art, the price of Liber Pater bottles soar. Last increase to 35,000 euros per bottle. And something tells us that it can still reach even greater heights!
