The birth of the first listening bar in Bordeaux
Cafe Mancuso is the brainchild of Gui, who, after several years of experience in the restaurant industry in London, decided to open a unique venue in Bordeaux for food and music lovers: the perfect blend of great wines, delicious dishes, and good music to ensure you have an entertaining and exhilarating evening. A music connoisseur with a keen eye for musical aesthetics, he already had a strong concept in mind. This is a new listening experience thanks to a high-fidelity sound system and specially selected audio equipment for the restaurant. However, it was in Japan that this concept was born under the name of jazz kissa (jazz-café). Since then, it has inspired others and several audiophile venues have opened in the meantime, mainly in Paris.

A musical revelation
Every week, Gui invites DJs, rare record collectors, and selectors (local and international) to take control of the hi-fi console. While the restaurant plays music at all times, its purpose is not to make people dance, but rather to be a place for listening, exchanging, and meeting new people, although the atmosphere is always festive!! Yes, you can dance after dessert.
The programming is focused on discovery, providing an invitation to travel during your meal. To further enhance the music exploration, Cafe Mancuso also houses the record store Boudoir Sonore, which offers new and second-hand vinyl records of all genres, selected by an activist of the Bordeaux music scene.

On the music side, soul, jazz, funk, disco, afro, reggae, latin, folk, ambient, dub, synth-pop, balearic, downtempo, hip-hop, prog-rock, psychedelic, experimental, new-age, acoustic, classical & traditional music.
At the bar, you'll find a selective range of natural and biodynamic wines, spirits, cocktails, craft beers, refreshing drinks, specialty teas, and coffees. In the restaurant, indulge in a cuisine that is both modern and fusion. The chef unveils a 100% homemade menu from the open kitchen, made with fresh, local, and seasonal products. To top it off on a high note! There's a lunch menu (starter-main or main-dessert €16 / starter-main-dessert €20). As well as a brunch menu at €23 on Sunday lunchtime.

Private hire of the basement and hi-fi service
Cafe Mancuso offers its basement for any type of private event, with a lounge area, a ping-pong table, and a sound system, all in a cozy atmosphere. Two options available: a cocktail party where the chef provides a tailor-made buffet for your standing events; a host table: a seated meal around a large table for an intimate evening.

The team brings a more delicate touch and a certain prestige, providing a high-end vintage audio system. Why Mancuso?
Music lovers have probably already heard of David Mancuso, a pioneer of sound and creator, in the 1970s, of the famous private musical evenings known as "The Loft" in New York, which brought together all communities and social classes. These evenings left a lasting impression on a whole generation with their innovative style of presenting music to the public. This perfectionist did not want to alter the music and had very sophisticated audio equipment to ensure that the sound matched that of the recording. He never mixed two tracks at the same time. David Mancuso, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 72, has become one of the spiritual fathers of dance culture.
