A true hub dedicated to dining at Mériadeck
Since its opening in 1980, the Mériadeck shopping center has continually reinvented itself to stay current. With over 6 million visitors recorded in 2022, it meets the general demand of its clientele (many offices nearby) and expands its food offerings with a new, modern dining area. The construction, lasting over a year, cost 12 million euros funded by the Dutch property company Wereldhave, a co-owner of the property.

A contemporary foodcourt that blends into the landscape
And the result is quite stunning. A new iconic architecture, created by the Valode & Pistre firm (architect of the Promenade Sainte-Catherine), brings transparency and luminosity to offer elegant, pleasant spaces that integrate perfectly into the urban environment of Mériadeck. The famous footbridge has also been completely renovated to connect the first floor of the shopping center on Rue Claude Bonnier to the dining area overlooking Esplanade Charles de Gaulle, above the tram.

This one offers 3 kiosks: Bagel Corner, Brioche Dorée, and Monsieur Albert are already open. Not to mention the giant KFC at street level facing the tram stop, open seven days a week from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. And a newcomer, Chef Aji with his delicious Asian influences, will open by the end of July.
4 kiosks and 5 restaurants expected for fall 2023
A second phase of openings is expected in the second semester, with the introduction of Black and White burgers which will complement the street level offer, while two restaurants will open facing the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle. From bagels to hot dogs, sandwiches to salads, chicken wings or gyoza, there will be something for all appetites, from breakfast to dinner.

Because the stores will be open at the same hours as the shopping center (to allow the people of Bordeaux to eat throughout the day), some will be destined to remain illuminated later in the evening. The goal? To evolve Meriadeck and offer a nonexistent evening option that the neighborhood lacks.
