Named « Lune du Castor » by the Native American tribes, this full moon traditionally signifies the time when beavers busily build their dams before winter. In 2025, it’s getting a grand upgrade: the Moon will be only 356,833 km from Earth, which is its closest distance of the year! As a result, it will appear 8% larger and up to 16% brighter than a regular full moon. This rare phenomenon hasn’t been observed with such intensity since 1982.
When to look up?
Even though the full moon will reach its peak at 14:19, the real show will start at moonrise, around 16:30-17:00 in France. That’s when it will take on its orange hue, almost supernatural, thanks to the light filtered by the atmosphere, a lovely effect known as « the orange moon effect ». Here’s a little tip

Why "Beaver Moon"?
The name comes from the Algonquin tribes of North America. In November, beavers would get busy to strengthen their dams before the swamps froze. It was also the season when trappers set their traps to prepare for winter. This is where this traditional lunar name comes from.

A super emotionally powerful moon
As it is closer to Earth, it acts like a magnifying glass on our feelings: hypersensitivity, heightened intuition, need for clarity. The Beaver Moon symbolizes preparation and strength. In astrology, this moon represents preparation, inner building, and securing ourselves before a new cycle. It invites us to strengthen our foundations, sort out what’s fragile, and focus on what lasts. In Taurus : the Full Moon on November 5, 2025, occurs in the sign of Taurus, an earth sign connected to stability, sensory pleasures, and nature. It encourages us to slow down, savor, and especially anchor our projects in a concrete way. However, like any full moon, it can also awaken tensions between material security and the desire for change (Taurus-Scorpio axis).
The Beaver Supermoon invites us to slow down.to lift your head and remember that an ordinary Wednesday can also become magical !
